The Boathouse

Perched on the edge of a private 80m natural lake, The Boathouse provides the ultimate lodge for bringing family & friends together. An oversized covered deck conjoins two self-contained, 4 en-suite bedroom lodges, the ideal solution for multigenerational family holidays or corporate & wellness retreats.

The Boathouse is all about enjoying and savouring the great outdoors. With stunning, uninterrupted views across the lake to beautiful English woodlands, the covered deck area provides the ideal spot to kick off your shoes, open a bottle, relax & lose yourself in a good book. The deck is a perfect place to connect to nature; you can indulge yourself in a little gentle outdoor yoga, or simply lie back in one of the two Jacuzzi hot tubs & relax. Under the canopy, a uniquely designed teak table allow guests to come together and enjoy al fresco dining, with the loungers & sofas providing the perfect coffee spot. You can also enjoy a little friendly rivalry playing a game of pool on the outdoor pool table and playing a game of table football. Off the deck you can find our small rowing boat Beatrix for you to enjoy during your stay with us. Stargaze and toast marshmallows on the oversized fire pit by the lake.

The Boathouse has been designed with two lodges that mirror each other. Both boast spacious interiors decorated in warm jewel colours, with stunning velvet headboards & comfy fur throws. The open plan living space features a bespoke fitted kitchen complete with breakfast bar & offers a cooker, dishwasher & American style fridge/freezer. The sitting/dining area has a large corner sofa, 55" Smart TV, a retro arcade games machine, and a large 8-seater dining table with French doors that lead onto the outdoor decking area. Each of the 4 bedrooms has an en-suite rainforest shower room; beds can be configured king or twin size, there is wardrobe hanging space, a dressing table & room for a cot should one be required, and a 32 inch TV. Two of the bedrooms feature French doors so you can enjoy the beautiful views across the lake and have direct access to the deck.

The Boathouse is situated within its own enclosed gated area with ample space for parking and space for kids to play games & kick around a football. As this lodge is pet friendly, the outdoor area is perfect for exercising & playing with your dog. The Boathouse welcomes up to 6 dogs, with a charge of £70 per pet. Each of your furry friends will receive their own doggy welcome pack on arrival.

This year we were thrilled to have spotted otters playing in the lake at The Boathouse, so keep your eyes peeled; you may catch a glimpse of these playful creatures!
